When I saw Kristin Marie had joined the Shoeper Shoe Challenge, I knew I had to do it as well!
If you haven’t heard of the Shoe Challenge, it’s a mission to dig in your closet, find all your shoes, and wear every pair over the course of a year. It’s a risky endeavor: any pair you don’t wear has to find a new home.
More info and shoe pics after the break…
Thanks to working on my master’s thesis, I’m now very good at discussing what I can’t do (it’s called research).
Acknowledged Limitations:
1. It’s cold here at least half the year, so all my pretty peep-toes and slingbacks have only a few months to come out and play.
2. I work on a huge campus where I have to walk, a lot, if a shoe isn’t comfortable, it usually only gets brought out for special occasions
2b. I’m single with no dating life and therefore have very few such “special occasions”
3. My boss tends to frown on wearing hooker heels to work, but I love them and buy them anyway, which means I’m going to spend a lot of weekends in 5 inch stilettos.
Step one… photograph my shoe collection
Step two… count said shoe collection
There’s a little loophole here, shoes that you only use for a specific purpose (snow boots, tennis shoes, ice skates) don’t count as part of your total, so ignore the two pairs of workout shoes that managed to sneak their way into the picture.
Total pairs: 49
No, wait 50, I forgot the backup pair I keep in my office, nuts!

The fun begins on Valentine’s Day, wish me luck!

Good luck! I can’t wait to see how everyone does. π
More props to you, I could never do this. I have no problem with getting rid of clothes I don’t wear, but I don’t know if I could give away shoes I never wore. They’re like my children. I can’t just give up my kids, can I?
yeay for doing the challenge too π
I have 50 pairs as well!
We can do it! π
